SUKKUR: Eighty drums containing a total of 14,400 litres of raw alcohol were seized in a raid on a long-vehicle at the Ali Wahan check post near Rohri town of Sukkur district on Wednesday.

Excise police deputy director Hanif Rajput and inspector Najeebullah Domki told the media that the container-mounted trailer carrying the drums was stopped at the check post while it was on its way to Karachi from Lahore.

In the ensuing search and examination, the cargo turned out to be raw alcohol, they said. They said three suspects, Imran, Jawed and Irfan (driver), were booked and arrested.
