RAWALPINDI: Tehreek Nifaz Fiqh-i-Jafaria (TNFJ) chief Agha Syed Hamid Ali Shah Moosavi unveiled on Sunday a 19-point ‘code of Azadari’ for Muharram and said his group would observe the mourning through Sunni-Shia brotherhood.

Addressing a news conference at Ali Mosque, he said mourning processions all over the country would be taken out independently under the May 1985 Junejo-Moosavi agreement and no hurdle in this connection would be accepted.

He demanded deployment of troops and Rangers at sensitive places during the month and said that control rooms set up at the interior ministry and in the provinces should remain in contact with the TNFJ Muharram committee’s Azadari cell.

He called for action against banned groups in order to root out terrorism. The operation Zarb-i-Azb should have been launched much earlier and the nation should fully support it, he said, adding that a similar operation should be carried out in Quetta.

Agha Moosavi said Pakistan’s foreign policy should not give the same treatment to India and Iran.

The code announced by the TNFJ chief envisaged installation of CCTV cameras and walkthrough gates and making video films of all Majalis and processions, protective measures by administrations of Imambargahs in addition to patrolling by security personnel, strict action against banned groups, avoiding provocative speeches, suspension of musical and comedy programmes and no loadshedding of gas and electricity during the mourning events.
