Two ‘kidnapped’

THATTA, Sept 5: A man and his son were taken away by eight armed men in Daro town on Friday.

The armed men entered the house of Ali Bux Machhi, peon of local primary school, early in the morning and blindfolded him and his ten-year-old son and took them away. They also ransacked the house and beat the inmates up.

The neighbours suspected plain-clothed armed men as

the personnel of the excise police. However, the Daro police said there was no entry of any police from another area with them.

When contacted, the only man present at the excise office in Thatta said the excise and taxation officer had yet to arrive and he was unaware of any raid.

PROTEST: A demonstration was held outside the Makli police station on Friday to protest against rising crime.
