CHAKWAL: For the first time a centre for children suffering from thalassemia has been set up at District Headquarters Hospital Chakwal.
According to Medical Superintendent Dr Mohammad Ahsan Naveed Malik, the centre would be formally inaugurated soon.
“The children of Chakwal district affected by thalassemia would be provided free of cost treatment at the centre,” he said.
Dr Malik also appealed to philanthropists to come forward to make Chakwal free of thalassemia. “I am thankful to the Thalassemia Society of Pakistan and the management of Islamabad Diagnostic Centre for helping us in setting up this centre,” he added.
