MULTAN: Federal Minister for Railways Khwaja Saad Rafique called on former PTI president Javed Hashmi here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, Saad said Pakistan needed people like Hashmi to strengthen democracy. He said the NA-149 result would have been different had the PML-N taken the decision to support Hashmi in time.

Addressing a workers convention earlier, Saad Rafique said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif would take the nation into confidence regarding government’s future plans.

He said if Imran Khan had any objection to the assets of the prime minister he should move courts.

APP ADDS: The minister said railways land even encroached by dwellers of kacchi abadis would be retrieved.

Speaking at a briefing at the DS Railways Multan Division office here, he directed officials concerned to improve facilities at the Khanewal railway station.

Saad inaugurated the Musa Pak Express between Multan and Lahore and urged the public to avail the facility as it was cheaper than road travel.
