PESHAWAR: A key commander of the outlawed militant group Lashkar-i-Islam (LI) has surrendered to security forces along with 80 of his men.

Sources said that LI commander Haji Faqeer and his men handed in their weapons in Khyber Agency's Shalobar area.

Earlier another commander, Malam Khan, also surrendered along with several of his men.

Militants later destroyed the homes of nearly 30 LI activists who had defected and surrendered to the government.

Meanwhile, three FC personnel were injured in an attack along the Pak-Afghan border in Bajaur Agency.

Official sources confirmed that the cross-border attack targeted Pakistani security forces in Kakhi Pass area, injuring the three personnel.

Sources also said that both heavy and light fire was received from across the border.
