SIALKOT: A trader was shot dead by three bandits on resistance during a dacoity incident near Kalair Kot village in Daska tehsil on Sunday.

Reports said that Waqar and his father Mushtaq were going to Satrah on a motorcycle when armed dacoits intercepted them, snatching cash and mobile phone from them. On offering resistance, the armed men shot dead Waqar on the spot and fled.

Later, the family and villagers blocked Satrah-Pasrur-Gujranwala Road for an hour by placing the body on it and chanted slogans against the police.

The protesters dispersed when Daska DSP Engineer Rana Zahid assured them that culprits would soon be arrested. Satrah police have registered a case.

TWO INJURED: Two passersby were injured seriously in firing by fleeing dacoits at Fawara Chowk in Daska on Sunday.

Reports said that Tazeem and Jamil sustained serious injuries when dacoits, in a bid to flee after looting thousands of rupees from a shoe store in Daska, opened fire in a panic.

The injured passersby were admitted to Civil Hospital in a critical condition.
