Qasimabad win trophy

HYDERABAD, Sept 1: Qasimabad clinched the first position while Hyderabad City and Latifabad stood second and third in badminton men’s competitions, organised under Sindh Sports Board Hyderabad Sports Festival 2003.

According to results, Hyderabad City defeated Latifabad 2-0. Rizwan Ahmed defeated Sultan Ahmed 15-5 and 15-8 while Rizwan partnered Muhammed Imran to beat Zeeshan Ahmed and Muhammed Shahid 15-9 and 15-7.

Qasimabad defeated Latifabad 2-0. Zeeshan Leghari downed Muhammed Shahid 15-0 and 15-6 in the singles while in the doubles Zeeshan Leghari and Shams Shaikh proved too strong for Sultan Ahmed and Muhammed Shahid 15-5 and 15-8.

In the third competition, Qasiamabd defeated Latifabad 2-1 to claim the first trophy. In singles Anwar Bhatti lost to Farhan Mohib 15-7, 1-15, 9-15 while Muhammed Ali defeated Abdul Jabbar 15-13 and 15-10. In the crucial doubles Muhammed Ali and Shamsuddin outclassed Abdul Jabbar and Farhan Mohib 15-9, 15-9.—APP
