GUJRANWALA, Sept 1: The local Anti-Terrorism Court No 2 on Monday ordered shifting of three accused involved in the Sialkot jail incident to Gujranwala jail after accepting their plea and adjourned the case till Sept 6.

Three jail officials — Abdul Hafiz, Abdul Aziz and Riasat Ali — were booked by Sialkot police and detained them in the same jail. They moved court and pleaded that since their colleagues were detained in the Gujranwala jail they should also be shifted there. The judge accepted their plea and ordered that they should be shifted to the Gujranwala jail.

Former jail superintendent Sikander Hayat, assistant superintendents Ghulam Rasul, Muhammad Sarwar, Raja Mushtaq and other accused were also present before court.

A sub-inspector, representative of the investigation officer (Kasur DPO), requested court to extend the date for submitting challan as it could not be completed so far. At this, the judge directed the SI that the challan should be submitted till Sept 6.

One of the accused, Abdul Aziz, fainted in the police van when he was being escorted.
