RAWALPINDI: Three more dengue patients arrived in government hospitals on Saturday taking the tally to 14. Four of them are in serious condition.
Holy Family Hospital now has nine patients and Benazir Bhutto Hospital five.
Five patients came to the government hospitals from Mohanpura and Gawalmandi areas located just a few metres away from District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital. None of them had visited the DHQ hospital for treatment.
Focal person of Allied Hospitals for Dengue Dr Javed Hayat told Dawn that the patients’ data was based on the report provided by medical superintendents of the three hospitals.
He said all the patients were being kept in isolation wards of the hospitals to avoid spread of the disease. He said that the hospitals had provided mosquito nets to the patients.
The focal person said though blood samples had been sent to National Institute of Health (NIH), the hospitals had carried out serology through ‘Eliza machine’ on their own without any delay.
