FAISALABAD, Aug 31: Dozens of bus drivers and conductors blocked the Narwala Road by parking their vehicles in protest against beating of their colleagues by some shopkeepers here on Sunday.

The protesting drivers and conductors also chanted slogans against the attackers for injuring their colleagues. They parked their vehicles in the middle of the Narwala Road, throwing traffic out of gear for about an hour.

The protesters alleged that a group of shopkeepers thrashed severely bus driver Muhammad Ramzan and conductor Naseer Ahmed over the fare issue.

A police team hastened to the spot and assured the protesters that an action would be taken against the accused shopkeepers. Later, the protesting drivers and conductors dispersed peacefully.
