Ajmal Khan to resume ICU charge tomorrow

PESHAWAR: Islamia College University, Peshawar vice-chancellor Ajmal Khan will formally take charge of his office on Tuesday four years after his release from the captivity of the outlawed TTP.

According to a varsity spokesman, Mr Ajmal will formally meet all the deans, chairmen and coordinators of different teaching departments besides sectional heads of finance and administration.

The meeting has been scheduled at 10am in the main committee room of the university. Ajmal Khan will also meet representatives of newspapers and media channels the same day.

Professor Ajmal was recovered from the militants’ captivity from North Waziristan Agency on August 28. He along with his driver Mohibullah was kidnapped by unknown people on September 7, 2010 from Professors Colony adjacent to the University of Peshawar campus. His driver was released in 2012.
