GWADAR: Shutter-down strike was observed in different towns of Makran division on Saturday in protest against the killing of six Zikri people in Awaran, attacks on private schools in Panjgur and kidnapping incidents in Turbat.

On the call of the Baloch National Front, shops, markets and business centres remained closed in Turbat, Panjgur, Pasni, Mand and Tump. Vehicular traffic remained thin.

Heavy contingents of police and the Frontier Crops were deployed at government buildings, main roads and other areas to prevent any untoward incident. Security personnel patrolled roads in the towns.
