Top seed Aqeel pulls out

KARACHI, July 23: Top seed Aqeel Khan has pulled out of Karachi Club Sindh Ranking Championship after injuring himself during practice session, organizers said on Wednesday.

Second seed Adnan Khan secured a place in the semifinal in the men’s singles when he beat Saad Baloch from Hyderabad 7-5, 6-2.

Adnan also got a place in junior singles last four when handed out a crushing 6-1, 6-2 defeat on Jahanzaib.

In the only junior doubles match Amjad Ali/ Shakoor Khan beat Vicky/Salman Hasan 6-3, 6-0.

Men’s singles quarterfinals: Adnan Khan bt Saad Baloch 7-5, 6-3; Jalil Khan bt Fahad Illahi 6-0, 6-2

Junior’s singles quarterfinals: Adnan Khan bt Jehan Zeb 6-1, 6-2; Saad Baloch bt Ali Mohsin Bhagat 6-6, 6-3, 6-3

Junior’s doubles: Danial Alvi/Shakoor vt Vicky, Saleem Hussain 6-3, 6-0

Today’s fixtures: Juniors singles: semifinal 3 p.m

Men’s doubles quarterfinal 4 p.m

Boys singles semifinal 4 p.m.

Ladies singles 5 p.m.
