RAWALPINDI, July 23: Four robbers looted cash and jewellry from a house in Westridge and escaped, police said on Wednesday.

Aziz Khan complained to the police that some persons rang the doorbell of his house on Tuesday night. When he opened the door, they forced their entry into the house and took all the family members at gunpoint.

The culprits looted Rs20,000 in cash, defence saving certificates worth Rs200,000, prize bonds worth Rs200,000 and 10 tolas of jewellry and escaped, locking Aziz Khan and his family in a room.

Some burglars looted cash, jewellry and other valuables from the house of Ghazanfar Ali Malik, an employee in the Prime Minister Secretariat, and escaped.

Mr Malik, residing in Banaris Colony, lodged a complaint with the airport police stating that they were away when some burglars broke into the house and made away with four gold rings and a necklace, Rs5,000 in cash, one camera and four wrist watches.

Meanwhile, Atil Imran’s Mehran car (IDF-598) was stolen from New Town, while another Mehran car (RIU-339) was lifted from Bank Road, Saddar.

Meanwhile, a 17-year-old boy was drowned in Kurung Nullah on Wednesday. Police said Rauf came to the Nullah with his friends.

While he was swimming, he went into deep water and drowned. Efforts were underway to trace the body till the filing of the report.
