SIALKOT: Firing was reported on Thursday from across the Working Boundary in the Bajwat sector of Sialkot.

The latest firing came from Indian Border Security Forces (BSF) personnel, however no casualties were reported, sources in the Chenab Rangers said.

The attack targeted Pakistan's Shahjamal check post in Bajwat and was repulsed by personnel from the Chenab Rangers, sources said.

The latest report of firing came a day after Pakistan and India agreed on de-escalation along the Line of Control and the Working Boundary with both having lately witnessed frequent violations of the ceasefire accord. The decision on ending hostilities was taken during a conversation between the heads of military operations directorates of the armies of the two countries.

The Working Boundary has recently witnessed a spike in tensions and exchange of fire between the two sides.

Also very recently, a United Nations peacekeeping mission observers visited Pakistani villages near the Working Boundary that have been hit by Indian shelling.
