BADIN, July 23: The district coordination officer has advised the residents of coastal villages to shift to safer places in order to avoid possible floods.
In a handout issued here on Wednesday, DCO Syed Mumtaz Ali Shah said that the meteorological department had forecast heavy rains and storm which might play havoc with the district.
The DCO directed the Badin taluka municipal administrations to remain alert and make arrangements to drain out accumulated rain water from roads and streets.
Meanwhile, sky was heavily overcast and drizzle was continuing here from noon till the filing of this report.
FARMERS FAINT: About two dozen farmers fell unconscious when they were spraying pesticides on chili crop near Shadi Large on Tuesday.
According to landlord Ghulamullah Bhurgari, the chili crop was attacked by insects and as no registered pesticide was available in Shadi Large, the growers were forced to purchase spurious pesticides.
