MURREE: Five members of a family, including a groom, were killed when a van fell into a ravine near Ghora Gali on the Lora Road on Tuesday.

According to Rescue 1122, those who lost their lives were the groom, two women, a child and a man. The bride was injured in the accident.

The accident occurred when nine people were travelling in the van to drop the bride at her family’s home on the second day of the marriage. The family belonged to Rawalpindi.

The injured were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital (THQ) Murree.

People of the area said speeding, overloading and violations of traffic rules were the main causes of accidents.

Besides, they added, no traffic police were deployed from Ghora Gali to the Lora Road.
