HYDERABAD, July 23: Activists of the Pakistan Muslim League-Q labour wing, Sindh, held a protest demonstration outside the press club here on Wednesday against the alleged malpractice in the Sindh Seed Corporation.

Speaking on the occasion, labour wing leaders Abdul Hameed Hingoro, Faqir Mohammad Solangi, Ghulam Abbas Solangi and others said substandard seed was being sold by officials of the corporation.

They claimed that corrupt practices of the officials were identified in the audit report but no action was taken against them.

They said employees of the corporation had not been paid their salaries for the last several months and they were being transferred to remote areas.

They demanded that an inquiry commission should be formed to probe the matter.

The labour wing leaders also expressed confidence in the leadership of Sindh PML-Q chief Ghaus Bux Mahar, senior vice-president Syed Shahabuddin Shah and Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar.

They condemned the conspiracy of vested interests against the party leaders and appealed to Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain to ensure discipline in the party and expel those people who were trying to create rift in the party.—Bureau
