ISLAMABAD: Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Sanitation Directorate, Health Services Directorate and Environment Wing carried out a joint operation on Wednesday to clean and sanitise the former venues of the two sit-ins in Islamabad after the protesters moved to the Constitution Avenue.

During the operation, the teams collected 30 tons of garbage from Kashmir Highway, Aabpara Chowk, Aabpara Market, Khyaban-i-Suharwardy, Municipal Road and other adjoining areas.

Two hundred sanitary workers of the civic body carried out the cleanliness campaign with heavy machinery, including tractor trolleys.

Special teams of the Health Services Directorate also carried out fumigation and sprays.

The sanitation staff has also been deputed on Constitution Avenue to ensure daily collection of garbage.

CDA Cares 1122 ambulances and emergency and disaster management staff have also been deputed on the avenue to tackle any untoward incident.
