HYDERABAD, Dec 19: A large number of people from Pinjra Pole and Faqir ka Pir areas staged a protest demonstration here on Tuesday against the overflow of sewage on the main road which has also entered their homes.

The nullah passing through the locality has been completely choked and sewage overflowing from it has turned the area into a lake of dirty water.

As the stinking water entered the homes, the angry youth came out on the road, started pelting stones on the passing vehicles and burnt tyres.

They also raised slogans against Hyderabad City Nazim and Naib Nazim.

A contingent of police also reached the spot and the police officials talked to the notables of the areas assuring them that the nullah would be immediately cleansed and the sewage would be drained out. After this assurance the people dispersed.
