MIRPURKHAS, July 22: Cases were registered against a trader and a storekeeper here the other day for selling spurious pesticides but none of them was arrested.

Pesticide dealer, Roopchand, and storekeeper, Mohammad Ali, were found guilty after a laboratory check of their stock.

An assistant director of the agriculture extension wing, Mirpurkhas, lodged a case against them under section 21(2)B of the Pesticide Act with the Satellite police station.

The official stated that he had taken the samples of pesticide from the godown of said dealer and sent it to a laboratory for test which proved that the same were spurious.

INJURED: Ali Murtaza Shaikh, son of Shamsuddin Shaikh, the president of the District Bar Association, Mirpurkhas, was injured in an armed attack near Firdous Cinema here the other day.

Ikramuddin, a police constable, and his friend, Jamshed, allegedly attacked Mr Shaikh following an exchange of hot words.
