HYDERABAD, July 22: The Sindh National Party has condemned the announcement that the capacity of the greater Thal canal would be increased by 3,000 cusecs.
In a statement issued here on Monday, SNP chairman Amir Bhambhro said the Indus River System Authority and Wapda were committing excesses against Sindh.
He blamed the Sindh government for failing to present the case of the province at the forums concerned successfully.
JSQM: The Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz has condemned the murder of Tooh Korai due to torture at the hands of the Khairpur Nathan Shah police.
In a joint statement issued here on Monday, JSQM leaders Shafi Mohammad Karnani, Mohammad Rahimoon and Akbar Jagirani demanded arrest of police officers who tortured the man.
CAMP OFFICE: The Sindh minister for Zakat, Ushr, Auqaf and religious and minority affairs, Dr Irfan Gul Magsi, inaugurated his camp office in Tando Allahyar here on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the purpose of the camp office was to resolve peoples’ problems on the spot as they were facing difficulties in going to Karachi for lodging their complaints.
He said a middle school for girls would be established in Sanjar Chang and the town would also be provided with water supply and drainage systems and electricity. He said Rs2 million would be spent on these projects.
