PESHAWAR, July 20: Capital city police have arrested five alleged dacoits and recovered weapons from their possession here in Ittehad Colony on Saturday night, a press release said.

Police said that a resident of Ittehad Colony, Abdul Ghafar Khan, son of Abdul Mabood Khan, informed ASP Faqirabad circle by telephone that a group of dacoits had sneaked into his house.

A raiding party rushed to the spot and besieged the house. The dacoits managed to escape. However, one of their accomplices, Fahim, son of Mir Aslam, was arrested on the spot.

On the identification of the accused, the police party conducted raids and arrested four other persons from different areas of the city. The accused had been identified as Ghulam Mohammad, Adnan, Usman Ghani and Ferman Khan. The police also recovered five pistols from their possession.— Bureau
