OKARA, July 19: Three people, including a wagon driver, were killed while five others sustained injuries on Saturday in an accident on Deepalpur-Pakpattan Road.

The Pakpattan-bound wagon (LHO-889) crashed into an oncoming truck (LR-6856) at high speed near Chakshah Nawaz. As a result, driver Javed and two minor children Qamar and Nasim died instantly while Shamim Bibi, Ali Shan, Mst Kharan Bibi, Akram, Khadim and Nadeem suffered severe injuries. They were shifted to hospitals at Deepalpur and Okara.

GANG-RAPE: Two sisters were gang-raped in revenge by four people on Saturday at Chak 26-GD, some 25 kms from here.

‘K’ (19) and ‘S’ (15) were going to fields when Sakina and Bashiran took them to a nearby farm house on some pretext where Akbar, Jehangir, Hanif, Arshad, Ashraf and Yasin were present. They tied both the sisters with ropes at pistol point and sent Jehangir and Ashraf outside for guard duty. Later, Hanif and Akbar gang-raped ‘K’ and Yasin and Arshad gang-raped ‘S’ and fled after committing the crime.

Gogera police have registered a case after the medical examination of the girls.

It is learnt that Mushtaq, the brother of victim girls, had kidnapped the daughter of Akbar some four days back.

RECOVERED: Renala Saddar police on Saturday claimed to have arrested a drug pusher and recovered one kilogramme hashish from his possession at Chak 18/GD.

Police also arrested Rafique, the uncle of accused Zahid alias Nazir, when he came to police station and offered Rs17,000 as bribe for the release of his nephew. The ASI also registered a case against Rafique.
