MARDAN, July 19: A woman and her married daughter were gunned down over a domestic dispute at Tariq Colony here on Saturday evening.

Walida Bibi, daughter of Khan Shad of Guli Bagh (Hoti), had married Sher Ali some months back. The couple soon developed differences and Walida went to her mother’s house.

In the meantime, Sher Ali made several attempts to bring his wife back home, but his mother-in-law refused to allow her daughter go with him.

On Saturday, Sher Ali and his brother Akbar Ali went to Walida’s mother to resolve the issue. But she again refused upon which the two brothers allegedly opened fire on the women, killing them both on the spot. The accused escaped.

Guli Bagh union Naib Nazim Gohar Zaman, who is a close relative of the victims, lodged a case against the two brothers with the city police station. — Correspondent
