Jinnah College girls clinch top positions in board exams

PESHAWAR/MINGORA: Jinnah College for Women (JCW) has grabbed all the top three positions in the Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC) examinations 2014 of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Peshawar.

According to the results announced here on Wednesday, all the top three position-holders belonged to the FSc pre-medical group. Hubba Noor Wardag of JCW clinched the overall first position with 997 marks of total 1,100 marks. Hirra Muttasim of the same college obtained 996 marks and stood second while the third position was shared by Mihar and Nazneen Liaquat by obtaining 994 marks each.

The pre-engineering group was topped by Mohammad Yasir of Islamia College Peshawar (ICP) with 973 marks, followed by Ms Taliba Noorul Ain of Peshawar Modal Degree College Dalazak Road, Peshawar, who got 969 marks, while Adil Bashir of ICP stood third with 966 marks.

The result was announced during a ceremony held in the main hall of the BISE, Peshawar, and attended by Peshawar BISE chairman Prof Mohammad Shafi, secretary board Hakeemullah and JCW principal Nilofar Zaib. Additional secretary Elementary and Secondary Education Department Qaiser Alam Khan was the chief guest on the occasion.


Cadet college students excel in Swat board HSSC exams


The computer science group was topped by Hirra Farooq of JCW with 937 marks. The second position was shared by Aleena Munir and Hamas Ahmed of the Islamia College, Peshawar, by getting 908 marks each. Iftikhar Uddin got third position with 891 marks.

The top three positions in humanities group were also grabbed by girl students. Meena Reham of JCW got the first position in humanities group by obtaining 905 marks followed by Aisha Aftab and Khadeeja Ashfaq, who got 901 and 865 marks for the second and third spot, respectively.

In Mingora, students of Cadet College, Swat, have clinched top positions in both the pre-medical and pre-engineering groups in the HSSC examinations 2014 of the BISE, Swat.

Controller of examinations of the BISE, Swat, Prof Shahabuddin announced the results at Khpal Kor Model School here on Wednesday.

Shahab Khan of Cadet College, Swat, clinched the overall first position by obtaining 1,008 of total 1,100 marks while female students of Jamil Public School and College, Mingora, secured second and third positions. Of them, Ms Kausar Iqbal stood second by obtaining 1,002 marks and Ms Hasfa Ali of the same school secured third position by getting 997 marks.

The top three position-holders belonged to the FSc pre-medical group.

In the FSc pre-engineering group, the first position was secured by Asad Ullah of Cadet College, Swat, who got 982 marks. The other two positions were also clinched by students of the same college. Burhan Ullah got second position by obtaining 977 marks while Sultani Mulk Khan and Hassan Sardar shared the third position by obtaining 975 marks each.

In humanities group, Syeda Bushra of Government Girls College Daggar, Buner, stood first by securing 836 marks while a private candidate Ms Zainab of Swat district got second position with 830 marks and Wali Mohammad Khan of Government Higher Secondary School Gagra, Buner, secured third position with 828 marks.

Government Degree College Mingora, Swat, which has been showing excellent results since long, could manage to get only one spot in top 10 positions in the pre-medical group. On this occasion, certificates and cash prizes were also distributed among the position-holders.
