Pakistan seeks UNSC resolution against Israeli offensive

UNITED NATIONS: Lamenting inaction by UN Security Council on Gaza, Pakistan asked it to act by adopting a resolution that would call for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire, halt Israeli air, ground and naval offensive and remove Israeli forces from Gaza.

“People all around the world wonder why on Gaza it (UN Security Council) has been able to produce only a press statement or just elements for the press and not a resolution”, Pakistan’s UN Ambassador Masood Khan said.

PM demands end to "genocide of Palestinians"

Participating in a debate on “Situation in the Middle East, including the Palestinian Question”, Mr Khan urged the Security Council to play its role in ending the blockade of Gaza, opening its border, and release of Palestinian prisoners.

Ambassador Khan said that the people in Pakistan have expressed their solidarity with the entrapped and embattled people of Gaza through protests, rallies and resolutions.

America will, as in past, block anything that even remotely hurts Israel. The only way to liberate Palestine is with a coalition of like minded states. Pakistan, Turkey and Iran can together form a powerful regional block that can put meaningful pressure on Israel to end it's Apartheid.

This is just a stunt by Pakistan, knowing fully well that the resolution is doomed to failure because of the language that Pakistan has used. Masood Khan, amend your resolution to also include that Hamas should immediately stop launching rocket attacks on Israel (from civilian areas in Gaza, and against civilians in Israel). Your credibility will then go up and you will have more supporters.

What happened to all the other resolutions in the past against Israel? Sort them out first and you won't need a new one. UN is a castrated body without a say. Pakistan is only fulfilling a formality to show how concerned they, nothing more.
