ISLAMABAD: Dozens of schoolteachers and writers gathered outside the National Press Club on Tuesday to protest Israeli brutality in the Gaza Strip.

The protesters urged the international community to bring an end to the Israeli aggression, which has left over 500 Palestinians dead and more than 1,000 injured following air and ground strikes in Gaza.

The protest was organised by various literary organisations as well as the Federal Government Teachers’ Association (FGTA).

Holding up banners and placards, the protesters chanted slogans against Israel and the US. They urged the Muslim world and the United Nations to intervene and bring an end to the bloodshed.

Javed Intizar, the chairman of Pakistan Youth Tehreek, said the United States and the UN were complicit in the loss of Palestinian lives.
