ADBP on verge of big victory

KARACHI, Oct 11: Agriculture Development Bank of Pakistan (ADBP) were on verge of an emphatic victory in the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I match after claiming four Wapda wickets in the second innings at Iqbal Stadium in Faisalabad Thursday, according to details available here.

The luckless Wapda, yet to taste victory this season, were rocked by pacer Rao Iftikhar Anjum who produced a burst of three for 12.

Wapda limped to 31 for four after being set a target of 312 on the penultimate day of the four-day tie.

Earlier, 37-year-old left-handed all-rounder Javed Hayat made 53 while sharing a fifth wicket partnership of 75 with skipper Zahoor Elahi as ADBP took their overnight score from 42 for one to 254 all out.

Zahoor, the former Test opener, top-scored with 55 off 80 deliveries.

Opener Inam-ul-Haq followed his first innings knock of 70 by making 48 in the second.

Faisal Irfan bowled best for Wapda to finish with four for 44 in 23.1 overs. Off-spinner Aqeel Ahmed claimed three for 58.
