SHC summons Sharjeel Memon over 'bogus tender approval'

KARACHI: The Sindh High Court (SHC) on Saturday issued a notice to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader and Chairman Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) Sharjeel Inam Memon in a case relating to the approval of an allegedly bogus tender.

The application against Memon, filed by former chief engineer KWSB, Abdul Raheem Khatri, alleged that the provincial minister had okayed the bogus tender of a "greater sewerage plan".

Khatri moreover alleged that he was sacked for opposing the tender's approval and maintained that only the provincial chief minister had the authority to order his firing.

The ex-KWSB chief engineer also alleged that the tender was given to a company named Mohammad Ayub and Brothers by copying his signatures, adding that he had not signed off on the tender.

Subsequently, the SHC issued notices to Memon among others party to the case to appear in court on July 24.

Mr. Inam Memon is among the most corrupt Minsters in Sindh Government. Infact all tenders in Hyderabad Rural are also floated through corruption. As he has been selected from Hyderabad Rural Consituency and he is exploiting all the resources in his own pocket. I request a high level supreme court action is required against him in the corruption cases.

@Matt he's not wadera; he belongs to middle class family...his late father was a cashier in SRTC plus sharjeel Memon was unemployed civil engineer before starting real estate biz with financial assistance of some friends probably during last decade.

Sharjeel Memon must resign and he should face the investigated for alleged corruption. If a mayor and an ex Federal Minister (Joe Fontana) in Ontario Canada can be sentenced to four months Jail for defrauding and using $1700 public funds on his sons wedding then Sharjeel Memon can also go to jail if found guilty of corruption .
