Ijaz slams third century for ABL

KARACHI, Oct 11: Despite Ijaz Ahmed Junior’s third century in four matches, Allied Bank were unable to prevent Habib Bank taking a substantial 145-run lead on the first innings in the Patron’s Trophy Grade-I clash at Sheikhupura Stadium Thursday.

According to details available here, Allied Bank were all out for 344 having resumed at the overnight score of 111 for two in reply to Habib Bank’s massive 489.

By stumps on third day, Habib Bank had extended their lead to 193 by reaching 48 for three in their second innings.

Ijaz, the former Test right-hander who made centuries against ADBP and Wapda this season, scored 107 off 262 balls in a stay of 339 minutes.

Humayun Farhat was Allied Bank’s other main contributor with a quick 44 off 40 deliveries while helping Ijaz add 73 for the fourth wicket in 66 minutes.

Test leg-spinner Danish Kaneria captured four for 128 in 36 overs.
