ISLAMABAD, July 15: The Capital police on Tuesday recovered a child kidnapped for ransom on Monday and seized illegal weapons also.

The police said Ikram Younis was abducted by some unidentified persons after which the police were on vigil to find the clue about the kidnappers.

The family of the abducted boy on Tuesday received a phone call from Lahore by kidnappers demanding Rs2 million as ransom.

The Capital police with the cooperation of Lahore police recovered the child from Shahdra, Lahore, after receiving the phone call and held the accused Waheed.

The police in another incident stopped a bus (LOF-255) for routine checking near Tarnol and found 7MM rifle, 15 rounds and a gun.

When asked about weapons, no body claimed possession. Meanwhile, the driver sped away from the spot.— APP
