KARACHI, July 14: The National Institute of Labour Administration Training (NILAT) organized a week-long course on “Decision Making and Problem Solving” a press release said on Monday.

Forty-five participants from different government departments, multinational corporations, NGOs and women organizations, besides some fresh graduates from the Kara-chi University attended the course.

The topics covered under the course included: utility and importance of decision making, management change and decision making, strategic decision making, role planning and decision making, communication of decision making, group decision making, conflict management and decision making, motivation and decision making and performance appraisals and decision making.

Speaking at the closing ceremony of the course, DG, NILAT said that the objective of the course was to impart the latest knowledge about decision making and problem solving to the participants, so that they could develop managerial excellence in their respective organiza-tions and enhance their productivity.

He said 21st century was more critical, demanding and challenging, so the managers running different organizations must prepare themselves to meet the social and econo-mic challenges of the ‘global village.’

Those who presented papers and delivered lectures were, director general, NILAT, Syed Hakim Ali Shah Bukhari, consultant Dr Azhar Rizvi, director, Syed Ghayoor-ul-Hassan, deputy director Shaikh Imtiaz Ali, Col Zafar Jamil, research officer Noor-ul-Hadi, assistant directors, Abdul Jabbar Memon and Mohammad Anwar Khan, Ms Tanveer Ishrat and Khurram Ali Gohar.—PPI
