Weather remains humid

LAHORE, July 13: The westerly front currently over Kashmir has resulted in widespread rainfall in several cities of the northern Punjab, Northern Areas and the NWFP during the past 24 hours, according to the Flood Forecasting Division on Sunday.

In Lahore, the weather was humid on Sunday with a drizzle at one or two places. It remained partly cloudy with the maximum temperature at 35.6 degrees Celsius and the minimum at 26.6 degrees. Humidity was 84 per cent in the morning and 49 per cent in the afternoon.

According to FFD data, Sialkot received 172mm of rain while in Islamabad, Dhamial received 144mm, Airport 46mm, Zero Point 35mm and Shamsabad 17mm.

The rainfall was recorded at 92mm in Kallar, 56mm in Kamra 56mm, 55mm in Shinkiari, 51mm in Risalpur and Tarbela, 50mm in Shakargarh, 35mm in Chakwal, 9mm in Muzaffarabad, 8mm in Jhelum and 4mm in Mianwali.

The FFD expects more rain in several cities of the Punjab, the Northern Areas and the NWFP during the next 24 hours. It will remain partly cloudy in Lahore with chances of thunderstorm and rain.
