KARACHI, July 13: Sindh minister for population welfare Imtiaz A Shaikh, inaugurated on Sunday the Family Fun- Fare Mela, organized to mark the World Population Day.

The mela, with some 150 stalls, including those of district population centres, provided the people with an opportunity to acquire first hand information about the significance of the ongoing population control programme through relevant literature and free of charge products.

However, the visitors also showed interest in purchasing handicrafts, traditional embroidery work, stitched clothes and foodstuff.

Special arrangements were also made by many of the stall owners to entertain children accompanying their parents. — APP
