KARACHI, July 13: Naib Amir of Jamaat-i-Islami Pakistan and Senator Prof Ghafoor Ahmad has said that General Musharraf sacrificed interests of Pakistan and the Muslim Ummah during his foreign tours, particularly during his visit to the Camp David.

Recognition of Israel by all Muslim states is included in the Middle East roadmap and in the Camp David, General Musharraf was stressed to make efforts in this regard, he alleged.

He was delivering the presidential address at a discussion on “Pakistan-Israel relations: Apprehensions and Reservations”, which was organized by the Islami Jamiat-i-Talaba in Delhi Colony on Sunday.

Prof Abdul Ghafoor viewed that recognition of Israel would strengthen evil designs of India and asserted that general public and students would foil every effort aimed at recognition of Israel and sending Pakistani troops to Iraq.

Prof N D Khan of the PPP said, “Whatever agreement General Musharraf has made with the US authorities should be put before parliament.”

About Israel, he said, Pakistan should adopt the same stance as adopted by the OIC and Arab countries.

“Anti-Pakistan demos in Afghanistan have exposed results of the unsuccessful foreign policy adopted by the rulers. It is the need of the hour that Muslim states should adopt a common stance on Kashmir and Palestine issues,” Prof N D Khan said.—PPI
