Ahmed and Ayaz elected

KARACHI, July 12: Faqir Ayazuddin and Ahmed Ali were elected president and secretary unopposed of revived Sindh Olympic Association (SOA) in the controvertial elections held at National Sailing Centre on Saturday.

Representatives of Pakistan Sports Board (PSB) and Sindh Sports Board (SSB) were not present at the elections.

Various provincial sports associations prior to the elections declared it illegal as they maintained, it were held without issuing an election schedule and authentic voters’ list.

Other office-bearers elected were: Abdul Malik Khan (chairman), Shujaat Ali Baig (vice-chairman), Aftab Lodhi, Bari Jilani, Veena Masud (vice-presidents), Arif Faheem (treasurer), Khalid Rehmani, Anila Raja (associate secretaries).

Khursheed Hasan Khan, Shoaib Ahmed Usmani, Zulfiqar Ali Shah, Zafar Yousufzai, Razzaq Arain and Akram Khan were elected members executive.—APP
