VEHARI, July 11: Three people were killed and 25 others sustained injuries in an accident on Burewala-Chichawatni Road here on Friday.

An overloaded wagon, coming from Chichawatni, overturned near Yaqoobabad stop while saving a bicyclist. As a result, Munawar of Chak 419/EB, Riaz Ahmad of Sheikh Fazal and Riaz of Chak 411/EB died instantly while 25 others sustained injuries. They were rushed to Burewala THQ Hospital. Medical superintendent Dr Nasir Dilshad said the condition of Hanif, Sharif Farooq Ahmad and Fiaz Ahmad was critical. The other injured were identified as Abdul Khaliq, Allah Rakha, Naveed, Saleem, Nawaz, Fiaz, Maqsood Ahmad, Tahir, Farooq, Khan Muhammad, Ashraf, Liaquat Ali, Munir Ahmad, Altaf, Manzoor, Sharif, Nawaz Ali, Noor Muhammad, Papoo, Ghafooran Bibi, Maryam Bibi. Later, 15 of them were discharged after providing them with the first aid.

Police have arrested the driver and are investigating.
