THATTA, July 11: The senior civil judge, Thatta, Iqbal Ahmed Khwaja, sent a seven-year-old girl, Mehmooda, to the Abdul Sattar Edhi Child Home after she refused to recognize a man, Haji Allah Rakhio, a beggar by profession, as her father here on Thursday.

The court directed the sub-inspector to trace out and produce the father of the girl in the court. The district attorney, Thatta, and Lakhadino Behrani assisted the court in reaching the decision.

As per statement recorded in the court by the sub-inspector of the Makli police station, Khan Mohammad Shar, he found the girl begging with her claimant father, Haji Allah Rakhio, who has already been accused of abducting two girls, Laila and Asiya, at a bus stand in Bukera Sharif.

The sub-inspector claimed that a brother of Rakhio produced both the abducted girls at the Makli police station. The sub-inspector went to Bukera Sharif to arrest the accused. There he found Mehmooda with the accused.

The girl categorically refused to recognize the beggar as her father, saying she was a resident of Hyderabad and her father’s name was Khudu.
