India and Pakistan have now two choices ................either keep fighting and end up like middle eastern countries or work as two strong neighbors like USA-Canada or European Union....and rule the world.....history will not spare any one.

The two countries should come out of the orthodox mindset and should work together for the betterment of their people. Enough is enough. Hunger and poverty cross limit on both sides of the border while both spend crazily on defence. We need to learn from the world that how they have buried hatchets. And its quite possible. We have seen more than 60 years antagonism has lead no one anywhere. Has India benefited or Pakistan? None. If one is afflicted with a problem, sooner or later, same or similar problem knocks at the door of the other. So whats the fun n whats the benefit of igniting fire on either side. It serves none and fires back. So please learn from history of the world and put all your resources together for betterment of the people you have been elected for.

Why is he inviting this mass murderer of Muslims? His role in the Gujarat genocide is recognized by the whole world. Modi also uses abusive language against Pakistan. A better strategy would have been to adopt a wait and see approach and demand that Modi act like a responsible statesman on media. Our simpleton PM who doubles as FM knows nothing about conducting foreign affairs. He thinks all the worlds problems can be solved on a plate of haleem and pawei at Raiwind.

I agree with Punjabi's comments whole- heartedly. The real need for both Pakistan and India who share so much common history is to stop wasting money on armaments and war machines and use the resources to educate their peoples so that they can be better citizens.

US and Canada used to be like Pakistan and India about 150 years ago. the were always getting in to conflicts with each other, but then they decided, to not have any military on borders and rather than being rivals, they worked together now look at the benifits they enjoy from each other. same goes for India, Pakistan, just like US india requires alot resources and products, for US canada provides it. and Pakistan can become the Canada for India. both countires can do this and they need this.

@Huma ..I think you need to get your facts right..Muslims in India have long forgotten that error and have moved on...I suggest even you move out of past and embrace a stable future guaranteed by Mr. Modi.

Modi is a good friend of China. We happy that he is now PM of India.

I am happy our Prime Minister took the initiative to congratulate Mr. Modi. While what happened decades ago under his rule is most unfortunate, we need to start fresh. Neither India nor Pakistan can afford to be at odds. By having better relations with our neighbors, we can focus our attention to the more urgent matters - like our internal security, economy, etc.

Only time will tell how good Modi will be with Pakistan. Although I hope peace will prevail just like the example of Germany and UK, but I think aggressive mindset of the elite individuals who are warmongers cannot accept peace in the region.

@Dinesh Srirengan : Modi, as Chief Minister of Gujarat State, visited China 5 times during the last 10 years and every time he was given a red carpet welcome by the Chinese Government. The Chinese say, their Officials & businessmen always receive a warm reception from Gujarat administration during their business trips to the state. The western countries, especially the USA is apprehensive that Modi may take India strategically closer to China, at the expense of USA. Just read recent reports appearing in American and European newspapers and magazines, expressing worries about Modi's future policies.
