No US planes, troops in D.G. Khan

DERA GHAZI KHAN, Oct 11: There are no American planes or troops in Dera Ghazi Khan, sources said here on Thursday.

The local airport, according to sources, has been closed since Oct 9 because there are some sensitive installations in the region.

A PAEC uranium field is a few kilometres away from the airport. Also lies in this region the Dhodak oil field.

Eye-witnesses said anti-aircraft guns had been installed around these highly sensitive projects.

Anti-aircraft guns can also be seen on the rooftops of some flour mills around the town.

LIFTED: District Nazim Jamal Khan Leghari has lifted Section 144 imposed in the Dera Ghazi Khan district two days ago.

According to sources, the district Nazim had imposed the section on the advice of the district police officer.

Police sources said the district Naib Nazim had allowed the Jaish-i-Muhammad to hold a public meeting in DG Khan a month ago. The DPO and the district Nazim were said to be outside the city at that time. Next day, the police booked Jaish central leader Maulana Masood Azhar and his body guards.
