HYDERABAD, July 8: The adviser to the Sindh chief minister for human resources development, Abdul Majeed Jamali, has appealed to the entrepreneurs to set up industries in Sindh for generating jobs for the jobless youths of the province and for the development of Pakistan’s economy.

He was speaking as the chief guest at the Shaikh Abdul Majeed Sindhi memorial seminar on prominent personalities to mark the 114th birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter and journalist at the Dialdas Club here on Monday night.

The seminar was organized by the Dr Khan Mohammad Panhwar Trust in collaboration with the cultural committees of the club.

He urged the youth to study the life and achievements of prominent personalities who had devoted their lives for the development of society and promotion of education, language and literature.

Mr Jamali said that it was also the duty of scholars and intellectuals to highlight and project the services of prominent personalities for the benefit of the younger generation.

He stressed the need of joint efforts by the public and private sectors to create job opportunities for the educated youth.

Paying tributes to Shaikh Abdul Majeed Sindhi, Mr Jamali said that he had played a dominant role in the Pakistan movement and he was also a great journalist.

He lauded the services of the late Dr Khan Mohammad Panwhar for the welfare of downtrodden masses. He said that the trust named after him had undertaken a big task of projecting the services and sacrifices of the prominent people.

Comrade Mir Mohammad Talpur in his presidential remarks said that it was our primary duty to remember and project the sacrifices of the great freedom fighters and reformers.

He said Shaikh Abdul Majeed Sindhi belonged to the middle class but he was a great freedom fighter and had achieved singular distinction not only in politics but also in journalism.

He said Mr Shaikh Abdul created an awakening among the Muslims through his articles and editorials.

Mir Mohammad Talpur said that the editorials penned by Mr Shaikh Abdul in Al-Waheed and Al-Amin were now a part of our history.

Mr Talpur also highlighted the services of Sir Haji Abdullah Haroon, Rais Ghulam Mohammad Khan Bhurgari, Maulana Khair Mohammad Nizamani, and Noor Mohammad, the founder of the Noor Mohammad High School, Hyderabad.
