HYDERABAD, July 8: The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education, Hyderabad, on Tuesday announced the results of Secondary School Certificate-II examinations, 2003.

In the science group, 36,183 candidates out of 47,138 were declared successful whereas the results of 525 candidates were withheld for different reasons. The pass percentage remained 76.75.

The first position was shared by a boy student of the Sanghar Cadet College and a girl candidate of the Latif Niazi High School, Latifabad, the second position went to a boy candidate of the Petaro Cadet College while the third position was bagged by a girl student of the Army Hyderabad Public School.

Among boys, Rashid Aslam, son of Mohammad Aslam, of the Sanghar Cadet College secured the first position by taking 782 marks, Zubairullah, son of Mohammad Aslam Rajput, of the Petaro Cadet College took 776 marks and secured the second position and Umair Khalid, son of Mohammad Khalid Jat, of the Sanghar Cadet College took the third position by securing 770 marks.

Among girls, Noorul Ain, daughter of Abdul Sattar Shaikh, and Bushra Saeed, daughter of Saeed Akhtar Ansari, both of the Latif Niazi High School, Latifabad unit-11, secured first and third positions by obtaining 782 and 765 marks respectively. The second position went to Anum, daughter of Abdul Ghani, of the Army Hyderabad Public School who took 772 marks.

In the general group, 2,320 candidates appeared in the examinations out of which 1,462 were declared pass. The result of 53 students was withheld. The pass percentage was 63.01.

Two girl students of the Government Girls Ghazali High School, Kunri, and the Jinnah Boys and Girls High School, Latifabad, shared the first position, a boy candidate of the Government Pilot Higher Secondary School, Dadu, secured the second position while the third position went to a girl student of the Government High School, Tando Allahyar.

Among boys, Syed Bachal Shah, son of Syed Hayat Shah, of the Government Pilot Higher Secondary School, Dadu, secured the first position by obtaining 641 marks, Ali Raza, son of Mohammad Suleman, of the Darul Uloom High School, Mansoora, and Yar Mohammad, son of Taj Mohammad, of the Government High School, Manzoorabad, secured second and third positions by taking 628 and 622 marks respectively.

Among girls, Afeera, daughter of Mohammad Amin, of the Government Girls Ghazali High School, Kunri, and Sanya, daughter of Wahid Ali, of the Jinnah Boys and Girls High School, Latifabad unit-9, shared the first position by obtaining 645 marks each. The second position went to Shamim, daughter of Mohammad Yamin Khan, of the Government High School, Tando Allahyar, who obtained 640 marks while Mithi, daughter of Tharo Khan, of the Government High School, Mehar Ali Jamali, secured the third position by obtaining 624 marks.
