PESHAWAR: An additional advocate general, Naveed Akhter, on Wednesday tendered his resignation citing personal reasons for his inability to continue on his post.

The AAG has tendered his resignation to the provincial law department. He was appointed on the said post on October 31, 2009, during the previous provincial

coalition government of Pakistan Peoples Party and Awami National Party.

After the present government assumed charge, last year he had tendered his resignation, but the provincial government had asked him to continue in his office.

Mr Akhter, who is a senior advocate of the Peshawar High Court, told Dawn that as the present government appointed fresh team of law officers, including additional and deputy attorneys general, he was asked by the government to continue for the time being. “I resigned from my office as I wanted to resume my private law practice,” headded.
