LAHORE: The portal of country’s premier online pharmacy – Sehat – was formally launched at a ceremony here on Wednesday.

“The service is aimed at delivering quality medicines to people straight from manufacturer to their doorstep anywhere in Pakistan,” Apothecare Chief Executive Officer Nadir Mumtaz told participants.

He said by getting oneself registered at website www.sehat.com.pk or calling at toll-free number 080073428, one could avail the facility.

In accordance with the standards of the World Health Organisation and guidelines of good manufacturing practices, a mechanism had been in place to ensure delivery of all items -- be it over the counter medicines, prescription drugs or consumer products -- within 24 hours from the time of payment confirmation in all major cities. For some remote areas, the delivery may take up to 72 hours.

The CEO said special precautionary steps had been taken from the time cold chain or refrigerated items were received from the manufacturer till their delivery to the customer to ensure that their condition and temperature was maintained according to recommendations of the manufacturer.

“Special packing material is also used to maintain the temperature even during delivery. In case of expensive items, special packing reduces risk of breakage or damage,” he said.

Payments could be made through bank deposit, net, virtual or mobile banking.

Earlier, Apotheare Director Bilal Mumtaz gave a history of the company while Nadeem Mumtaz also spoke. The portal was formally launched by chief guest Ijaz A Mumtaz.
