SUKKUR, July 5: Six people were killed in two different road accidents on Friday.
Three persons, including a doctor, were killed and a woman was injured in an accident near Moro, Naushahro Feroze, on Friday morning.
Three persons were going to New Jatoi from Moro when their motorcycle collided head-on with a car. Qadir Bux Machi, Mohammad Moosa Machi and car driver Bashir Ahmad Arain were killed and Mahnaz was injured in the accident.
The Moro police shifted the bodies and Ms Mahnaz to the Moro Civil Hospital, where condition of the injured woman is said to be critical.
ACCIDENT: Three persons were killed when their motorcycle (SKD 6970) collided head-on with a Karachi-bound passenger coach (7686) on the National Highway near the Shah Hussain Bypass, Khairpur, on Friday morning.
Those killed were identified as Raza Mohammad Chandio, Fida Hussain Chandio and Ghulam Murtaza Khaskheli.
The coach driver fled, leaving behind his vehicle.
LABOURERS: More than 25 labourers and leaders of various trade unions, at a meeting held here on Friday, expressed concern over employment of non-local people at the Engro company and sacking of its 13 workers.
The meeting decided to launch a protest movement from July 10 against termination of local labourers from various companies and appointment of non-local labourers.
The labourers also decided to send a delegation to meet
Sindh Chief Minister Ali Mohammad Mahar to apprise him of their problems.
DETAINEES RECOVERED: The civil judge of Jacobabad on Thursday recovered 10 persons illegally confined at the Karim Bux police station.
Naseer Khan Brohi had filed a petition in the sessions court of Jacobabad, stating that the Karim Bux police had arrested four persons without registering an FIR against them. He said the police were demanding bribe for their release.
The civil judge, Hifzur Rehman, on the order of the sessions judge, Riazuddin Phulpoto, raided the police station on Thursday and recovered 10 persons against whom no FIRs were registered.
He ordered the SHO to release all the persons and appear before the court on Monday. Allah Yar, Mohammad Malik, Abdul Rehman and Bux Ali were among those released.
