ISLAMABAD, July 4: The government has approved a plan to construct three new sub-sectors in Islamabad. The new sub-sectors include G-14/2, G-14/3 and G-14/4. In this connection, the Federal Government Employees Housing Foundation has been directed to acquire the land.

Sources said in the previous fiscal, Rs535.55 million had been spent on different federal government employees housing schemes while this year Rs80.618 million had been allocated for this purpose.

An amount of Rs24.618 million has been earmarked for the federal government employees chief executive secretariat staff colony and the project will be completed at an estimated cost of Rs275.4 million. Under another housing project, the prime minister programme for federal government employees, 900 housing units will be constructed at a cost of Rs350 million, the sources said.

They said under another project, 5,160 housing units would be constructed for the federal government employees at an estimated cost of Rs438.9 million. In previous fiscal, Rs128.2 million had been spent on the project while in the current fiscal year, Rs25 million has been allocated for the project. The project will be completed in two phases and in phase-II, 992 B-category flats will be constructed, they added.
