LARKANA, July 4: Under the flag of the People’s Doctors’ Forum, contractual doctors held a protest demonstration and also observed a token hunger strike outside the local press club on Friday to protest against delay in regularization of their jobs.

Speaking on the occasion, PDF district president Dr Shaukat Abro alleged that the Sindh government was using delaying tactics in regularizing the services of contractual doctors to appease one of its coalition partners.

He urged the government to immediately regularize their services as was done by the other provinces.

AIDS: Nine AIDS-inflicted prisoners were released on bail from the central prison here on Friday.

The Community Development Network Forum Larkana pursued their cases, said Lala Maqbool Mashori of the NGO, adding that the AIDS victims were in jail under preventive laws.

He said that they had been hospitalized and would be shifted to Naee Zindagi centre in Lahore on Saturday.
