HYDERABAD, July 4: The Muttahida Majlis-i-Amal (MMA), Hyderabad, on Friday evening held a protest demonstration at the Aurangzeb Masjid Chowk, Gari Khata, and blocked the road against the disqualification of Mufti Ibrar Sultan, an MNA of the NWFP, by the election tribunal.
The protesters raised slogans against America and Israel and burnt the Israeli flag. They also raised slogans against Pakistani rulers.
Speaking on the occasion, provincial president Jamiat-i-Ulema-i-Pakistan and MMA leader Dr Sahibzada Abdul Khair Mohammad Zubair, MNA, said that the MMA had tried to resolve the LFO issue in the parliament but the Pakistani rulers who enjoyed the blessings of America “had become arrogant” and were not prepared to respect the elected representatives of the people.
He condemned the disqualification of Mufti Ibrar Sultan saying that the rulers were trying to blackmail the MMA.
He, however, vowed that the MMA would fight against the rulers within and outside the parliament.
The others who spoke on the occasion included Abdul Rehman Rajput, MPA, local MMA leaders Abdul Waheed Qureshi, Maulana Shabbir Ahmed, Mohammad Hussain Qureshi, Shaikh Shaukat Ali and Afzal Gujjar.
